Casey is the Office Manager at Sit Means Sit and the wife of Head Trainer Wes Wirick. Married since 1997, they have four children. In 2013 they moved to the Portland/Corpus Christi area from Temple, TX. Casey previously spent 14 years working in early childhood development. Transitioning from teaching children to working with dogs, she found her new role at Sit Means Sit to be just as rewarding (and with a lot more tail-wagging).
Casey’s love for dogs grew tremendously after joining the Sit Means Sit family full-time. In 2015 she began training Daisy, her daughter’s rescue dog, and experienced firsthand what it means to train a well-behaved companion. Recognizing Daisy’s gentle nature and love for people, Casey decided to train her as a Therapy Dog. In April 2016, Casey and Daisy became a certified Therapy Dog Team with Go Team Therapy Dogs. Together they visit students, teachers, first responders, medical professionals and others, bringing joy to those who need it most in the community.
As a wife, mother and member of the Sit Means Sit family, Casey has embraced the opportunity to grow and give back. She is passionate about helping others and is grateful to be part of something that makes a difference every day.
