When not training dogs, he’s a dedicated family man with a supportive wife and four wonderful children.
Casey Wirick
Owner / General Manager
Casey Wirick brings a unique perspective to Sit Means Sit, having transitioned from a 14-year career as a Childcare Facility Director to the role of Office Manager when her family moved to Portland, Texas in 2013. Married to Head Trainer Wes Wirick since 1997 and mother to four children (Kayla, Tierra, Austin, and Joshua), Casey discovered that her teaching expertise translated perfectly to dog training, though with notably less backtalk.
Her journey into professional dog training deepened in 2015 when she began working with her daughter’s rescue dog, Daisy. This experience led them to become a certified therapy dog team in 2016, allowing Casey to combine her passion for teaching with community service. Together, Casey and Daisy now bring joy to diverse groups throughout their community, from schools and hospitals to law enforcement facilities, embodying the Sit Means Sit commitment to transforming lives through dog training.
Bree Villarreal
Office Manager
Born and raised in Portland, Texas, Bree has nurtured a lifelong passion for animals since childhood. Growing up surrounded by a diverse menagerie of pets – from dogs and cats to more exotic companions like hedgehogs – helped shape her deep appreciation for all creatures. Today, she shares her home with three beloved dogs: Daze, a black Lab; Oliver, a Chihuahua mix; and Rey, a Catahoula, along with three cats.
In April 2021, Bree’s dream of working with animals became a reality when she joined Sit Means Sit Corpus Christi as their Office Manager. Drawing from her extensive office experience, which began at age 16, she now applies her professional skills to support clients while pursuing her passion for working with dogs. Her enthusiasm for learning more about dog training and the company continues to grow, making her role at Sit Means Sit Corpus Christi truly fulfilling.
Mike and Lisa McArther
Trainer & Office Assistant
Mike and Lisa McArthur bring a wealth of life experience to the Sit Means Sit family. After 35 years of marriage, raising three children and building successful careers in Albuquerque, NM, they embarked on an exciting new chapter in 2016. The couple sold everything, embraced RV life and began traveling full-time across the country. Their journey eventually led them to Coastal Bend in 2018, where they immediately fell in love with the area and decided to make Portland their permanent home.
Their connection with Sit Means Sit began when their children surprised them with a puppy named Izzy in 2019. After experiencing training at a big box store, they knew they wanted more comprehensive training for their new family member and became clients at Sit Means Sit.
Mike’s curiosity about the business led him to join the team as a kennel technician, eventually working his way up to become a trainer. Lisa followed suit a year later, taking on an office role. Together, they’ve found their perfect second act as valued members of the Sit Means Sit family.
